It’s been nearly a year since COVID-19 led to a completely altered way of life here in Canada, and of course it’s been far longer than a year in many places in the world.
One way we’ll try to make sense of our experiences is by focusing our upcoming Studio Hours on the fibre and textile projects we made—the projects that helped to keep us calm, that helped us to feel connected to our creative community, that helped us to express our love for those we couldn’t hug or even see.
For many of us, our projects grounded us in “normal.” For some, learning and trying new things served as the stimulation we longed for.
We have lost loved ones this year, some of us have battled illness, we have all worried and lamented and wished and longed.
For an hour on Zoom with other makers, we’ll focus on some joys of the last year. We’ll talk about how important our creative projects were to us, each in our own personal way, together in a way we all understand deeply.
We’ll use breakout rooms to ensure that everyone will have a chance to share and to listen.
Our Founding and Studio Members are welcome to join us for Studio Hours—a virtual gathering of learning and sharing and socializing—on the second Tuesday of every month, at 4:30PM Pacific Time/7:30PM Eastern Time.
