A love of nature and a sense of home are beautifully reflected in textile designer and artist Mary Anne Donovan’s work: the warm aesthetic, the marine hues, the natural fibres, and the waterscapes that flow out of the frame.

Born in Newfoundland and currently living in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Mary Anne has always been attracted to the soft textures of fibres.

Her childhood was heavily influenced by watching her mom—a lifelong knitter—mending socks and upcycling clothes. Knitting was a shared passion between them, but Mary Anne never imagined that her passion for fibre art would become her career.
