A fabulous profile of Topsy Farms, an Ontario sheep farm that sells yarn and finished items like wool blankets. One of their blankets became famous when it was featured in an episode of the HBO series The Last of Us.

The Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking Canadian fibre artists who are interested in sharing their knowledge and skills during the MADE IN CANADA: SUSTAINABLE FIBRE ARTS NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR 2024 Conference.

They are accepting proposals for hands-on workshops on various fibre techniques, focusing on sustainability, until January 15, 2024. Info here.

The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is now accepting applications for a fall 2024 Indigenous Arts residency, on Hide Tanning and Parfleche.

Artist Joanna Rogers, whom we recently profiled, has written for the Craft Council of BC blog on “reading” her woven fabrics.

Artist Louise Perrone creates fantastic (in both senses of the word) jewelry from textiles. She’s teaching an online workshop March 15 & 22 on creating fabric jewelry, using techniques normally worked with metal, in textiles.
