Conference
At noon, come lunch while listening to this fascinating conference: with our guests we will be discussing different alternative ways of using fibre in a sustainable manner. How can we give back value to wool surplus that would otherwise be sent to waste? This conference is presented by Big Blue Moma, official partner of the Festival!
1 p.m: Recording LIVE of the Threads of Sustainability podcast, with Bridget O’Flaherty (the Sustainable Quilter) and Karie Wylie (Big Blue Moma). Under the Gagnon Big Top.
Are you stuck in a knitting project and would need a little help from a friend to put it back on tracks? Come under the emerging artists tent, for Clo-Tricot’s knitting clinic! Reserve your spot with Claudia, and get all the support you need, directly in the Big Blue Moma airstream! Don’t forget: there is also a winding station available for you, under the emerging artists tent as well.
Cast-on night! From 4 to 6 p.m., come join us under the Big Top for happy hour! We invite you to cast on a new project using something from your Twist haul! Crochet, spinning, knitting, embroidery… Let’s create together whilst supporting the artists of the festival. Bonus: everyone will be able to taste our souvenir Twist 2023 beer: the Castonite!

Relay Spin-o-thon! At 2 p.m., join us in the afternoon with your spinning wheels and spindles: we planned a most original activity. Like an ”exquisite corpse” concept, you’ll have three minutes to spin your fiber… Then you’ll pass it along to your neighbor! No need to register: to participate, just bring your favorite spinning tool and a minimum of 25gr of spinning fibre. Everyone will be leaving with a souvenir bobbin full of the colours and energy of Twist 2023! *This activity is more suited for spinners, but all other crafters are welcome.
